What is Wiltshire Mind?
Wiltshire Mind is a local mental health charity supporting people across Wiltshire who are experiencing emotional or mental health difficulties. We’re an independent charity and we rely on local fundraising and donations to provide our services.

Who can use your services?
Our services are open to Young People aged 11+ and adults aged 16+ living in Wiltshire. You don’t need a diagnosis or a referral from your GP, you can contact us directly.

Are you the same as national Mind?
No. We are an independent local charity affiliated to Mind, but we manage our own services, funding, and policies.


Accessing Counselling

How do I access counselling?
You can complete our online self-referral form on this website. Once we receive your referral, we’ll contact you to explain the next steps.

Is there a waiting list?
Yes, we do have a waiting list. Waiting times vary depending on demand and availability, but we’ll let you know the current estimate when you apply.

Do you offer counselling for children or young people?
Yes, we provide counselling for Young People aged 11+ to 18. See our webpage for more details.

What can I expect from counselling?
You’ll meet weekly with one of our trained counsellors, either in person or online, for 50-minute sessions. Your counsellor will provide a safe, confidential space to explore whatever you’re finding difficult.

How many sessions can I have?
We offer up to 8 sessions initially, with the possibility to review depending on your needs and our availability.

How much does counselling cost?
We are a charity, and ask for a contribution per session to help us cover costs. Details are on our webpages.


Other Services

Do you offer group support?
Yes, we run wellbeing and support groups across Wiltshire. These provide a friendly, supportive space to connect with others who understand. You can find more details and locations by emailing supportgroups@wiltshiremind.co.uk

Do you offer crisis support?
We are not a crisis service. If you are in crisis or need immediate help, please contact:

  • Samaritans – 116 123 (24/7)
  • NHS 111 (Option 2 for mental health support)
  • In an emergency, call 999 or visit A&E

Referrals and Professionals

Can professionals refer someone to Wiltshire Mind?
Our service is self-referral, so we cannot accept referrals on behalf of an individual from other professionals.

Do you provide training or workplace wellbeing sessions?
Yes, we offer mental health awareness and wellbeing training for organisations and workplaces. For details, please contact our training team at training@wiltshiremind.co.uk.
