Appeal 2025

Young People’s Counselling Appeal

Supporting local young people’s mental health in Wiltshire.

Wiltshire Mind urgently needs to raise £10,000 to keep our Young People’s Counselling service running throughout 2025. We provide vital mental health support to young people aged 11 to 18 who are facing anxiety, depression, grief, self-harm, school stress, bullying, or difficult home lives. This counselling offers a safe, confidential space where young people can feel heard, valued, and supported during some of the most difficult times in their lives.

With no government funding, we rely entirely on donations from people like you to keep this life-changing service running. We need YOU. Right now. Whether you can give £10, £100 or more, your action today could help a young person face tomorrow with hope. If you have ever wondered how you could truly make a difference – this is your moment.

Why this service matters

Mental health issues among young people are rising at an alarming rate. Right here in Wiltshire, more than 11,000 children and young people were referred to mental health services in just one year. Behind every number is a real young person who may be silently struggling with anxiety, self-harm, low mood, or overwhelming pressure.

This is where early support becomes vital. We know that half of all mental health problems begin before the age of 14. When a young person receives the right help at the right time, it can change everything—preventing crisis, supporting school attendance, building emotional resilience, and restoring hope.

In the past year alone, Wiltshire Mind has delivered:

  • 331 counselling sessions to
  • 49 young people who had nowhere else to turn

These young people found someone to listen, someone to understand, someone who cared—thanks to donations like yours.

The need is urgent, and the time to act is now.
