Counselling For Small Business Employees & Owners

Small Business Support

Running or working in a small business is rewarding yet demanding – it can also be very overwhelming. Whether you work for yourself or someone else, good mental health is important to you.

Talking to a counsellor can have real benefits for you and your employees’ mental health and wellbeing.

A survey conducted in 2021 found that 96% of small business owners keep the stress of running a business bottled up. 55% of employees feel that work is getting more intense and demanding.

This means that many have nobody to talk to about their problems. Sometimes, this can lead to poor mental health – and not knowing where to start.

Talking to a counsellor can be a really positive experience, and a great first step.

Wiltshire Mind – we’re here for you

Funded by the Health Inequalities Fund 2023-24, Wiltshire Mind is working in conjunction with Wiltshire Council to pilot a counselling service for small business owners and employees.

If you are self-employed, an employer or employee of a small business (up to 49 people), or you are a manual or routine worker, such as a care provider – you may be eligible for our small business counselling service, available free of charge for up to 8 counselling sessions.

You don’t have to be in crisis to seek counselling. Counselling offers you a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space to talk to one of our professional counsellors about your issues and concerns.

Our counsellor will help you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours so you can develop a better understanding of yourself and others. They’ll help you find your own solutions – whether that’s making changes in your life or finding ways of coping with problems.

How can counselling help?

Counselling can help you with deal with depression and anxiety, cope with stress and manage harmful emotions and behaviours. It can help you with issues related to running your own business or that affect your personal life.

It can also help reduce the psychological impact of difficult work situations and support you to work effectively and productively.
